Touch vs touchless faucet
The main difference between a touch vs touchless faucet is already clear from the name. Touch faucets require physical contact with part of your body in order to work. Note that this must be bare skin — you cannot tap the faucet with your sleeved elbow and expect the water to start. A touchless faucet uses a sensor to detect when water is needed and turns the water on and off automatically. No touch is needed, from any part of your body.
However, most people won’t tell you that the root difference between these two faucets is because of their sensor difference. Different sensors lead to different actions and movements. The touch faucet uses the capacity sensor that allows people to touch any part of the faucet to activate the water flow. The touchless faucet uses active infrared sensor that allows the touchless faucet to activate the water flow.
Both touch and touchless faucets can be powered either with a/c connection to the home’s power or with batteries.

Automatic faucet control
Automatic faucet control means the controller under the faucet or under the basin. Normally it’s a small control box, but it has the key spare parts of the solenoid valve, battery box inside. All these key spare parts in the control box are connected with the waterproof cables.
It also has water in and out marks on the control box, water comes in and passes through the solenoid valve, then out of the control box to the faucet body. The solenoid valve is used to close and open the water.
Touchless faucet sensor
As the most important part, the work of the sensor is to forward the signals to the valve to turn on the faucet after detecting your hand. Its job is to inform the valve when to start or stop the flow based on the presence or absence of your hands. It has either infrared light or ultrasonic sensors. In most cases, infrared light sensors are often placed at the tip of the spout.
The sensor cover is normally made of plastic ABS or EMS material which infrared beams can pass through it. Inside the cover is the PCBA with the circuit that can control the whole program working. Finally, it is sealed with resub potting with a strong moistureproof function.
The sensor range for touchless faucets is between 180mm-380mm. The sensor range and flushing time can be adjusted by a remote controller.

Touchless faucet for vessel sink
The touchless faucet is suitable for any type of vessel sink. No matter top mount or under-mount sink, single bowl or double bowl basin sinks, we all have suitable touchless faucets.
DO TOUCHLESS FAUCETS NEED ELECTRICITY?
The touchless faucet needs electricity for sure. Both the sensor and solenoid valve works need electricity power.
DC battery operated, normally 6V 4xAA alkaline batteries. Batteries shall last approximately 3000 times/month for one year. Battery replacement is easy, just open the battery box cover and put the new alkaline batteries into the box. Notice: please take care of the battery polarity.
AC adapter, one side with power plug and one side with waterproof connector connect with the sensor or control box. The input can be 110v-380v and output 6V-9V. The ac adapter is not expensive and can buy it separately.
Automatic faucet with temperature control
Some touchless faucets, it has a handle that can adjust the hot and cold water temperature, the mixing valve is integrated inside the faucet. Some items can even show the temperature on the faucet. We strongly suggest home bathroom use this type of faucet.
Some other touchless faucets only allow for cold water. If need cold and hot water, you need to install a separate mixing valve like the one in right.The installation is also easy, one hose with cold water and one hose with hot water, then mix together with cold and hot water.
