In today’s life, most people fail to flush the urinal system after using it. It creates bad odor and an unpleasant environment especially in public restrooms, which affects the health of the people when using it. And typically in some cases, people fail to close the faucet/tap properly after using it, which leads to the wastage of water. This causes various problems to the environment. Water is an important resource, which we owe the responsibility to pass to future generations. The wastage of excess water, as well as the unpleasant conditions in the surrounding, is a threat to the environment.
What are touchless urinal flushers system?
The touchless urinal flusher uses active infrared automatic sensor technology. When you stand in front of the auto flush valve, 2s pre-flush after detection; 6s Flush automatically after leaving. It can automatically flush if no usage in 24 hours.
Normally it includes disclosed automatic urinal flusher valve and conceal automatic urinal flusher which can conceal inside the wall.
Four parts of the touchless urinal flusher system
There are four key parts for the automatic urinal flusher, the faceplate with sensor eye, the solenoid valve, the power supply and the waterproof connector
1. Faceplate with sensor eye
As the most important part, the work of the sensor is to forward the signals to the valve to turn on the urinal flusher after detecting your body. Its job is to inform the valve when to turn on or off the water when your body comes and leaves. The cover of the sensor is made of plastic ABS or PA and there is an electronic circuit board inside the sensor eye which also includes the led light.
Normally the sensor eye is placed on the metal faceplate. Mostly the plate is made of stainless steel, some may use cheaper plastic material.
2. Solenoid Valve
The positive or negative signals from the sensor control the solenoid valve. The polarity of the signal determines if the solenoid will either engage a pull or push action. The valves control the water flow by using a rubber-like disc. When there is no signal, the valve is closed, meaning no water flow through the valve. The presence of a hand will send a positive signal to the solenoid causing it to pull the valve open for water to flow. The solenoid will close up the valve by a push action when the hand is no more.
3. Power Source
Every automatic urinal flusher system needs a power source in order to work. While some models get their power from alkaline batteries, others will use a low-voltage current from an AC transformer.
Normally there will be three choices: DC 6V: 4xAA alkaline batteries; AC: using a transformer to transfer power from 220V/380V to 6V; Both DC/AC models existed, firstly use AC power to work, if AC no power then DC start to work. Some touchless faucets may use DC 3V or lithium batteries.
4. Waterproof connector cables
As a key part, the waterproof connector cables connect every subpart, like a bridge to connect the sensor with a solenoid valve and power battery or AC Adapter. Also considering the humidity of the bathroom and toilet environment, it has high requirements for the electronic control system and every electronic component. In order to solve the problem, KEGE develops and designs anti-plug water-proof connector cables. It effectively increases the stability and reliability of the whole control system and the life of the touchless faucets, automatic urinal flusher, automatic toilet flusher and so on. What’s more, the waterproof grade of the cable reaches ip67.

How does automatic urinal flusher work?
After introducing four key parts, I will let you know how an automatic urinal flusher system works.
- Usually, a solenoid-actuated diaphragm valve is used to start and stop the flow of water.
- When the presence sensor detects any object coming, the sensor will give a signal to the solenoid valve to let the water flow out for 2 seconds pre-flush.As soon as the presence sensor detects the absence of that object, it will instruct the solenoid valve to open again to have 6s flush. The program will also control the solenoid valve to open in 24 hours.
How to install automatic urinal flush?
STEP1
Dig a suitable hole on the wall according to the installation instruction. Inter control box into the wall and connect the inlet pipe and outlet pipe. Open the stop valve to ensure all the connectors are watertight.
Notice:
The distance between the housing surface and the ceramic tiles should be longer than 15mm.
STEP2
Adjust the position of the control box, fixed with pieces of wood or other fillers. Then cover the control box by protecting the board to avoid the solenoid valve being damaged when filling the cement around the control box. Finally, laying the tiles.
Notice:
The protecting board should be taken down when finished.
STEP3
1. A wire connected to the 220V power source should be laid before placing the control box into the wall.
2. Connect the connectors as shown right, place the power supply box as figure 1 shows.
3. Connect the power supply box to the power source.
4. Fix the auto urinal flush face plate on the control box.
Notice:
Please shut off the power source during the installation.
